Note: no prior knowledge is necessary for any class.
Offered to all rising 6th - 8th graders.

About the Courses:
Computer Science
This course will cover basic to intermediate Java, from basic syntax, functions, arrays to
more complex classes, objects, and algorithms. We will dive into the world of Java taught
by two Saratoga High school seniors who both scored a 5 on the AP Exam. We teach
students the necessary skills to write fun and useful Java programs. If you are a Science
Olympiad student, this course prepares you for events like Game On.

Biology
Have you ever wondered what makes life, alive? This course is about the study of life,
biology, covering topics such as cell biology, genetics, ecology, biodiversity, human
anatomy, and more! Starting from the very cells that make you, you will get a
comprehensive understanding of how you have the same color eyes or hair as your
parents, the parts of the human body, and the ecosystems you live and breathe in.
(This course also prepares you for Science Olympiad events such as Anatomy and
Physiology, Disease Detectives, Green Generation, Bio Process Lab, and Water Quality.)

Chemistry
This course will explore the topics in chemistry, but taught in an easy
and fun way, from the atom, stoichiometry (calculating what is created and used
in a reaction), thermochemistry (heat during reaction), all the way to solutions,
and acids/ bases. Want to learn what the universe is made up of
and how chemicals interact with one another a certain way?
Want to know what a mole (no, not the animal) is? This course is for you!
(This course also prepares you for Science Olympiad events such as Chemistry Lab,
Forensics, Crime Busters, and Environmental Chemistry.)
